An exciting opportunity has arisen for a band 5 staff nurse to join our friendly and dynamic Interventional Radiology nursing team.
We are looking for a highly motivated, driven and enthusiastic person to join our team.
This is a great time to join the RLBUHT. Our Trust is in the final stages of a move to a new hospital, where our new radiology department will be equipped with state of the art equipment across all modalities.
The new department will have two interventional theatres, a cardiac catheter lab, an ultrasound / biopsy room, interventional CT scanner.
The successful candidate must be able to demonstrate excellent communication skills, team working and be dedicated to improving the patient experience.
We have a comprehensive orientation program and you will have the support of a designated mentor, as well as the friendly nursing team to facilitate you through your learning.
You will provide care and support to patients undergoing interventional and cardiac procedures. You will act as a scrub / circulating nurse within the interventional rooms for numerous procedures including angioplasty, nephrostomy, embolisation cases.
All employees have to wear PPE. Under IR(ME)R 2000 this means wearing a lead apron, depending on the case this maybe for a prolonged period.
Currently the department opens Monday to Friday 08:30 till 19:00 hours, with on call provision out of those hours.
There is an expectation that you will be prepared to work flexibly to fit in with the service needs, this will include covering the on call.
