We are one of the busiest university teaching hospital trusts in North West England. We manage three hospitals based on two sites: the Royal Liverpool University Hospital, Liverpool University Dental Hospital and Broadgreen Hospital.  Our hospitals have often been at the forefront of medical breakthroughs during our long history at the heart of the city.

In under a year we will be opening a new state of the art hospital. The new hospital will provide every patient with a single bedroom with en-suite facilities. We believe that modern healthcare is as much about privacy, comfort and dignity as it is about pioneering treatments and cutting-edge technology. Please look at our digital pack for videos and further information: Recruitment Info

Applications are invited for a 12 month fixed term post as a post CCT Clinical Fellow in Interventional Radiology to commence from August 2018. Applicants should hold full GMC registration and have 5 years’ experience within radiology of which at least one year should be in interventional radiology.

The post is for up to 7 supervised sessions in interventional radiology and three in diagnostic radiology which will constitute CT, USS or plain film reporting. The applicant will be on the Interventional radiology on call rota which is non-resident and banded at 2A.

The hospital is the regional vascular centre and there is therefore a high volume of complex peripheral arterial procedures and renovascular access work. There is a growing DVT service and an established EVAR programme which incorporates FEVAR, branched-EVAR and EVAS.

Oncological procedures that are undertaken currently are RFA, TACE, SIRT and nanoknife. The hospital is a tertiary unit for pancreatic and hepatobiliary patients.

The other large internationally recognised speciality in our department is AVM embolisation.

There is a general IR commitment including TIPS, nephrostomies, central (not PICC) line placement and GI haemorrhage etc.

You will be joining a team of 6 full time and two part time IR consultants and will partake in a 1 in 8 on call rota. There are 32 consultants altogether within the imaging directorate. We are a major training department for IR with usually at least one senior trainee in post and junior trainees allocated to most sessions.

There are ongoing audit and research opportunities in the department and these would be actively encouraged.

Final salary will be determined by number of years of prior experience.
