We are one of the busiest university teaching hospital trusts in North West England. We manage three hospitals based on two sites: the Royal Liverpool University Hospital, Liverpool University Dental Hospital and Broadgreen Hospital.  Our hospitals have often been at the forefront of medical breakthroughs during our long history at the heart of the city.

In under a year we will be opening a new state of the art hospital. The new hospital will provide every patient with a single bedroom with en-suite facilities. We believe that modern healthcare is as much about privacy, comfort and dignity as it is about pioneering treatments and cutting-edge technology. This is a new post for a full-time Locum Consultant Haematologist in Non-Malignant Haematology. We are seeking a dynamic individual committed to excellence in service delivery to join our team. This is an excellent opportunity to join a first class team within the Roald Dahl Centre in an active and progressive teaching hospital environment.

The post is to support non-malignant haematology services at the Royal Liverpool and Broadgreen University Hospitals NHS Trust (RLBUHT) and Aintree University Hospital NHS Foundation Trust (AUHT), with approximately 4 days spent at the Royal Liverpool and 1 day spent at Aintree per week. The post is for 10 programmed activities (8 DPA and 2 SPA). On-call commitment (including at weekends) is required, as is participation in daily ward rounds.

It is an exciting time to work in Clinical Haematology in Liverpool, with work ongoing to develop a citywide model of care. Although this is a 12 month fixed term locum appointment, there are opportunities to be actively involved in the shaping of clinical services for the future.
